Bernard is World Vision Zambia Response Director. He is responsible for managing humanitarian emergencies in the country and ensuring that World Vision Zambia has sufficient capacity to prepare and respond to humanitarian emergencies. Bernard lead a $30 million World Vision Zambia drought humanitarian response which affected over two million people across the country following the lack of rain experienced in the 2018/19 season. Bernard has over 17 years experience working in humanitarian industry in different roles, most of this in leadership roles.
Before assuming this role, Bernard has held various roles including Program Manager on USAID, ECHO, WFP funded grants. He has experience in managing responses in various contexts and has worked in various countries including Afghanistan, Mozambique, Democratic Republic of Congo and Zimbabwe.
Bernard is a Fellow Member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). He also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of South Wales, a Post Graduate qualification in Humanitarian Leadership from Deakin University in Australia and several certifications in the humanitarian industry.
